Is My Dog Suitable for Muttropolis?

Every Dog Is Different — and That’s Okay

Not every dog is suited to group daycare, and that’s perfectly okay.

At Muttropolis, our goal is not to pack in as many dogs as possible. Our goal is to create a safe, balanced, happy environment where the right dogs can thrive.

Before joining regular daycare, each dog will need to go through a suitability check or trial process so we can understand their personality, confidence, energy level, comfort around other dogs, and individual needs.

Dogs who may thrive at Muttropolis

Muttropolis may be a great fit for dogs who:

  • enjoy being around other dogs

  • are comfortable in new environments

  • like structured play and social time

  • can settle between activities

  • respond well to gentle handling and supervision

  • enjoy enrichment, sniffing, games, and routine

For these dogs, daycare can become a brilliant part of their weekly routine — giving them exercise, stimulation, companionship, and rest.

Group daycare is not right for every dog

Some dogs may not be suitable for group daycare, especially if they:

  • show strong aggression towards dogs or people

  • become highly stressed in busy environments

  • guard toys, food, space, or people intensely

  • cannot settle or rest between activities

  • are extremely fearful around other dogs

  • are unwell or not up to date with required vaccinations

If group daycare is not the right fit, that does not mean your dog has done anything wrong. It simply means they may need a different kind of support or environment.

Some dogs need a calmer day

Stay Care may be better suited for:

  • older dogs

  • quieter dogs

  • dogs who prefer people over rough play

  • dogs who enjoy company but not chaos

  • dogs recovering confidence

  • dogs who need a shorter or softer introduction

Stay Care gives dogs the chance to be cared for, supervised, and included without the pressure of a high-energy daycare environment.

Private Play Area Hire

A private option for dogs who need space

For dogs who are nervous, reactive, rescue dogs, or simply not suited to group daycare, our private play area hire may be a better option.

This gives owners access to a secure space where their dog can play, sniff, train, relax, and build confidence without the pressure of being around a group.

Trial Days & Assessments

How we decide if daycare is right

Before a dog joins regular daycare, we’ll look at things like:

  • temperament

  • confidence

  • energy level

  • body language

  • social skills

  • comfort around other dogs

  • ability to rest

  • handling needs

  • health and vaccination status

This helps us protect your dog, the other dogs, our team, and the calm structure we’re building at Muttropolis.
